Negotiator of the year
The Michigan Association of Hostage Negotiators (MAHN) has determined that a “Negotiator of the Year” award be established and be presented at the MAHN yearly conference.
The following will be used in determining the recipient of the award.
1. The award when presented will be presented to a Michigan Law Enforcement Officer or Mental Health Professional who is trained in crisis negotiation skills and assigned to a Crisis Negotiations Team.
2. The award may be presented to an individual or team for meritorious efforts in the field of negotiations from September 1st, 2025 to September 1st, 2026.
3. The award may be presented to an individual for career achievement/contributions in the field of negotiations in the State of Michigan.
4. Nominations shall be submitted electronically to the MAHN Board for consideration.
5. The MAHN Board has full discretion in deciding if an award will be presented in any given year.
6. The MAHN Board will review nominations and select the awardee (if appropriate) by vote.
