Officer Mike Alexiou

Officer Alexiou negotiated during a “volatile and dangerous hostage situation” in which his actions and skills were “nothing short of exceptional.” An incident unfolded when officers responded to a domestic incident involving an armed subject using a toddler as a human shield.  Officer Alexiou immediately put his outstanding negotiating skills to work.  Officer Alexiou's composure under pressure, coupled with his remarkable communication skills, were integral in ensuring that the hostage was safely released without harm.
